Failing to Jump the Fence

Just a quick post. We didn’t get into Laos. The people at the border crossing were very helpful, and the Vietnamese border control made it clear that although they were quite happy to let us take the bikes out of Vietnam, Laos wouldn’t let us in. They even let us walk across the border to the other side without stamping our passports so we could ask for ourselves. Laos border control were equally nice, but they told us that although we were totally welcome to come to Laos, there was no way we could bring our bikes in. So we’re ridden back to Hue again, (Rhys getting 2 punctures on the way) and now we need to decide what we’re going to do. Sell the bikes and fly to Laos? Keep the bikes and ride south to Saigon? Try to get the bikes into Cambodia?

I think we’re all going to sleep on it and decide in the morning.

Overall though. Bugger.

  3. Welcome to the blog Ha! Hope you’re enjoying and feeling better. We decided to to ride to Saigon and sell the bikes before going into Cambodia now, so we’re in Mui Ne soaking up the sun.
